AGM and Autumn Meeting -10th and 11th September 2022

Update 11th September 2022.

We’ve just returned home following the above event and were so pleased that so many members were able to join us, including some members from Canada.  The morning speaker had to cancel but Andrew Alderson took the place and gave a most interesting presentation about Tithes and ownership of parcels of land and buildings of our Alderson’s.  He presented it in such a way that we were all able to understand and were impressed by the amount of work he and his daughter Lizzie has put in for all our benefit as the information will be available on P-Tree.  After the formalities of the AGM we enjoyed a lovely lunch and a further talk by Bill Heyes on Lead Mining in Teesdale.  That evening most of the group enjoyed a meal at the Three Horseshoes Inn.  On Sunday morning the sun was shining as we met up again at The Bowes Museum and all enjoyed a very interesting guided tour of parts of the Museum.

Andrew Alderson has agreed to share his presentation with the whole society via Zoom. Date/time to be confirmed, watch this space!

All in all a successful event, special thanks to Godfrey and Vivian Alderson for their organisation.
