Spring Meeting 2026

We hope you can join us for what looks like will be a very interesting meeting and a chance to meet up with new and old friends. Society members should have received their email invitation to join us in Leeds for our Spring Meeting in April, more details below and a flyer will be sent out with February’s Roots.
“We are delighted to confirm that the AFHS Spring Visit for 2026 will be held in Leeds. The event will be held over two days, with an interesting and informative range of activities being arranged,
along with a Group Dinner and plenty of time for socialising with our friends and family.
The theme for the meeting is ‘Textiles in Leeds’. On Wednesday 22 April, we will visit the Leeds Industrial Museum at Armley Mills. There will be a talk by Amy Jenkinson on ‘Tailoring in Leeds’ followed by a demonstration of working textile machinery. Following a buffet lunch, Sue Roberts and Pat Cain with assistance from Richard Scott will give a talk about ‘Tailors in Leeds’ and the roles undertaken by Aldersons in the textile trade.”
